Dunkin’ Donuts vs. Mister Donuts (Japan)

In favor of Dunkin’:

  • DD actually owns it’s own coffee plantation in Columbia (or at least they did back the mid-90s)
  • Cheaper
  • More variations with rainbow sprinkles
  • Combos
  • Donut Holes (sic)
  • The apostrophe in Dunkin’ rocks it
  • Sometimes has booths or counter seating

In favor of Mister:

  • There’s an actual picture of some old white guy (apparently “Mister Donut”) in every shop
  • No blended fancy-pants crap-u-chino - just coffee and au lait
  • Better old fashioned and filled varieties
  • Free refills
  • Good service (usually) with an actual smile (usually)
  • Points system redeemable for MisDo goods
  • Pretty much always cleaner than Dunkin’
